Here I'm going to explain you about the A/B testing which is one of the most amazing features of DotcomPal.
A/B testing is a method of comparing two versions of web page, pop ups and bar or mail against each other to determine which one performs better. A/B testing is essentially an experiment where two or more variants of a page are shown to users at random and statistical analysis is used to determine which variant perform better for given conversion goal.
So in order to perform A/B test, go to the Grow option first which is present here on the left portion of dashboard in menu bar, and then click on A/B test.
I'm going to show you how you can create A/B test for your pages and in the same way you can create A/B test for popups and bar and mail.
Click on Landing Pages. Now you are in the A/B test section of your dotcompal pages where you can see all the A/B test which you have created already in your account. You can select the most converted or Brand-new page with the help of this drop down. Or if you want to search for specific template you can do that with the help of this search bar.
For now, I'm taking this template for original variant of this AB test.
Now, we are in the DotcomPal editor, here you can edit and customize your page to make it more attractive and professional for your audience. This editor allows you to change and add the images, content, headline, videos etc. on the page.
If you are starting from scratch then you can customize your page by using elements of DotcomPal editor. We have explained whole DotcomPal editor functionalities in our training video series so if you don't know how to use the editor yet please go ahead and watch that training video series so that you can understand how it will work. After editing and customizing this page you are done.
Now, for the AB test you need to create another variant for the same page. To do so, click here on this section then click on new variant button from this drop down.
You can choose an existing page or create a new page from scratch. You can edit and customize it as per your requirements. You can choose maximum five variants for AB test at a time.
After that you can click on this drop-down besides save and in the drop down you will get Save as template option to save it as a template and Save as draft option if you want to save it as a draft.
Now, I'm clicking on publish button. We are in publish and activate section now, here you need to set some settings.
We are in publish and activate section now, here you need to set some settings.
First setting option is where you want to publish this AB test, you can click here to get the URL of the page, if you want to change or edit the last part of you URL you can do that from here. You can copy the link by clicking on this copy link button.
If you want to turn off the DotcomPal branding then you can use this toggle button to turn off or turn it back on.
The second setting is when you want to publish, if you have planned a
launch or want to publish this AB test on a certain date and time you can do that too. You can decide if you want to start it now or on a certain date and time.
If you want start it on a specific date and time just select the date from here and choose the time from here.
The final setting is deciding a winning criteria for the variants, for this you need to select AB test winner deciding factor here, you can select two types lead and view. You will have two options to decide the winner for AB test, first will be the conversion of the AB test like here it is lead and second will be visitors.
If you choose lead then you need to select the winner date from here and also you need to set the time for it. Let me tell you how it will work, after selecting the date and time the winner will be decided between two variants according to lead grabbing. The page which will grab the maximum lead will be the winner on your set date and time. From both the pages the one which will grab maximum lead will be live automatically.
And if you want to decide the winner by views then you need to enter the number of views here. Let me tell you how this will work. Suppose if you enter six number of views then the page who will get 6 views first will be the winner between these two variants and will be live automatically. So, this is how AB test will work.
If you are done with all the settings you can click on this save & activate button to publish this AB test.
This whole process that I have explained here is to create the AB test for your DotcomPal pages. I hope AB testing is clear to you now.
I believe this was helpful for you. Thank you for watching.
