DotcomPal Domain Setup Guide
Access Domain Settings
Navigate to the Build section in your DotcomPal business settings and open the Domain page.
Review Subdomain

- Your default subdomain (e.g.,
concepta.dotcompal.co
) is ready to use for immediate website hosting. - You can edit your subdomain once. Choose carefully as it cannot be changed again.

Map Your Custom Domain
Click Map Your Custom Domain to begin connecting your purchased domain to your DotcomPal website.
Log in to Domain Registrar

- For this guide, use GoDaddy as an example:
- Log in to your GoDaddy account.
- Navigate to your domain portfolio and select the domain (e.g.,
concepta.live
). - Open the DNS Settings page.
Add First CNAME Record

- In DotcomPal, copy the provided Name and Value for the CNAME record.
- In GoDaddy:
- Click Add New Record.
- Select CNAME as the record type.
- Paste the copied Name and Value into the respective fields.
- Set TTL (Time to Live) to 1 hour and save.
- In DotcomPal, copy the provided Name and Value for the CNAME record.
Verification
DotcomPal will automatically verify the first CNAME record. Once verified, the Create Distribution button appears. Click it to generate the second CNAME record.
Add Second CNAME Record

- Copy the Name (e.g.,
WWW
) and Value provided by DotcomPal. - Repeat the steps to add the second CNAME record in GoDaddy’s DNS settings.

Add SSL and Additional CNAMEs
Add any required CNAME records for SSL validation or domain connect features using the same process.
Check Status
Verify the status in DotcomPal. DNS changes may take a few minutes to 48 hours to propagate globally.
Edit or Delete Records

- To modify a record, click Edit.
- To delete a record, click Delete, but be cautious as deleting essential records can disrupt your domain.
Final Verification
Ensure all records are correct and your domain connects successfully to DotcomPal. This completes your custom domain setup, enhancing your professional online presence.
